Supporters

KIPC is well established on the global musical calendar. Recent competitions have seen a significant number of entries and subsequent contestants from overseas including Israel, Russia, China, South Korea, Canada, Taiwan, Poland, Singapore, Ukraine, Australia, USA and Malaysia. It has a long history of competitors who have continued to develop successful careers as international concert pianists.

The KIPC Trust is a registered charity (CC21011) which organises and presents the biennial competition in Kerikeri.

The Trust receives no guaranteed funding and as a result is funded entirely by its many supporters who may be KIPC Friends, Financial Donors or Other Donors who supply goods or services. Donors may be corporate, private, community trusts, other charitable trusts or public enterprises.

It is the view of the Trustees that major donors who commit themselves to supporting KIPC will be attaching themselves to an organisation which has a considerable national and international reputation, thus also benefiting the image of the donor.

Financial summary 2018

The 2018 Competition is expected to incur total costs of around $150,000.
The main items of expenditure are:

Piano Hire, Tuning and Transport         $15,000

Net ticket sales and contestant entry fees should amount to about $30,000

KIPC will be dependent on community and private donors to meet the remaining costs of $120,000

While historically the KIPC Trust has always succeeded in raising enough funds to meet its costs, it would take considerable comfort from having one or two major supporters thus allowing greater financial security.

DONATIONS VIA BEQUESTS

The KIPC Trust or its antecedent entities have been organising piano competitions and recitals in Kerikeri for the past 28 years.  The trustees are aware that music lovers who have enjoyed such events during their lifetime may be moved to provide a lasting legacy to sustain the activities of KIPC for future generations through a bequest from their estate. Sometimes such bequests are a surprise to the recipient and other times the organisation is informed.

The KIPC Chairman Sylvia Burch, (09) 407 4582 or Treasurer Tony Norman 021421052 are the first point of contact for supporters who wish to discuss the possibility of such arrangements for the benefit of KIPC.  Discretion, confidentiality and sensitivity are assured.

Donor sponsorship of individual contestants

Each of the 15 contestants will be allocated to a major donor who will be linked to their contestant through the various KIPC publicity outlets and social media. This pairing will be featured in the competition’s 2018 programme and on individual banners which are displayed in the Turner Centre auditorium throughout the Competition.

These banners will be printed some time prior to the competition so that they can be displayed around Kerikeri or at your place of business. The 15 donors will get considerable exposure regarding their support of KIPC.

The contestant banners are in colour and measure 1200x 700 with the name of the donor below. Here is an example from the 2014 Competition.

The selection of donors is based on the value of support whether it be Financial or through the provision of Goods and Services.

The top 15 contributors are offered this acknowledgment. If a donor wishes to remain anonymous then this offer will be given to the next major donor on the list.
